First of all, before you even consider applying, please thoroughly read through our about us and FAQ pages. Make sure you know what you're signing your kids up for!

Here are the general qualifications for the Code To Grow scholarship:

• Your student has to be between ages 8-14 years old
• Your student must live within 25 miles of a PlanetBravo camp location - check here for locations
• Code to Grow accepts students who demonstrate financial need (see chart at the bottom of the page). For any unique circumstance please share details in your application. 

Formally, your child's scholarship includes:

• Fully-paid tuition to two weeks of PlanetBravo coding summer camp at the specified dates, only during the year of the cohort you have applied for.
• If needed and agreed upon, rides to and from camp through HopSkipDrive.
• If needed and agreed upon, lunches at camp packed by Code To Grow staff or ordered by PlanetBravo staff if Code To Grow staff are not on-location.

We try to make coding camp as fun as it can be, but a big, unavoidable part of coding camp is learning to code. That means your child needs to:

• Enjoy learning new things
• Be comfortable in a classroom environment
• Respect their teachers and put effort into following their instructions
• Follow the instructions of other adults who aren't their caregivers
• Have the willpower to not use their phone during camp

Your child doesn't have to be perfect at any of these things. The only thing that matters is that your child WANTS to try to be better. The only thing we can't fix is a lack of motivation, and the only person (not you) who can provide that motivation is the child themself. 

We obviously can't enforce our guidelines until your child comes to camp. We're working on the honor system here, because if your child doesn't want to be at camp, they will have a very unfun time and learn nothing from this. We believe that you only want what's best for your children, so we'll take your word that your child is willing to give camp a shot.

If your child: 

• consistently does not follow our guidelines at camp and shows no signs of improvement
• misbehaves to such an extent where we are asked by the PlanetBravo staff to not allow them to return to camp
• exhibits behavior that makes counselors and/or campers feel uncomfortable

we reserve the right to (and almost absolutely will) cancel their scholarship and prevent them from attending camp for however long we see fit. 

When your child is accepted into a Code To Grow cohort, they are only accepted into that cohort and not automatically accepted into all future cohorts. We reserve the right to reject your child's application for all future cohorts based on their behavior in previous cohort(s).

Additionally, be aware that by registering with us, you are also registering with PlanetBravo and agreeing to their terms and conditions. Please read them here. 

PlanetBravo reserves the right to deny your child entry to their camp. If this happens, we reserve the right to cancel your child's scholarship regardless of any statements previously made by Code To Grow regarding the matter.
